So… yeah.  It’s a free 3D sculpting program from Pixelogic, the makers of ZBrush.

I’ve got to say, it’s a darned impressive little program; I’ve used several free sculpting programs over the years and none of them are as easy to use as Sculptris.  While Sculptris is great for the initial sculpting of your model, it’s best to export it to another program like Mudbox, Maya or ZBrush to render it properly.  Of course those all cost money, which is what we’re trying to avoid here, so if you don’t mind low-end results, just render your models out in DAZ 3D studio, another fine free program.

Anyway, as I said, Sculptris is pretty easy to use; without going through hours of tutorials, I was able to begin sculpting heads, helmets, statues, and other objects.

If you’re a beginning 3D modeler or if you just want to check out a great free modeling program, you can’t go wrong with Sculptris!
